Chisos Basin Campground - 5400ft Site #51

The park is a long way from anywhere, but the drive is straight w/no speed limit signs (that I saw 😜). Fillā€˜r-up before you arrive or pay the $9.99/gl. fuel price in the park. The hikes are here by Chisos Basin, but the Rio Grande river is over an hour away. We got in a bit of sunset the first day, though ā€œthe Windowā€, after setting a weeks camp. Hoping to hike, bike, and paddle while we are here, it’s going to be 84 degrees this weekend! Maybe a rowboat ferry ride into Mexico for a tequila & tacos, if we are lucky. Got some serious stars in these darkest of nites here. Some curious Roadrunners hang in camp begging Twinkies, some will smile for photos too…
