Bryce Canyon National Park

March 22 & 23, 2022

Utah

We saved some of the best for last…

We hiked 16 miles of trails within the amphitheater in 2 days, and much of it was covered in snow or ice (but the worst was the slippery mud).

*Recommendations: drive the 18 mile park road to the end. Visit the overlooks and maybe an easy hike or two ( you’ll want that to acclimate to the 8-9k elevation! ) There is an amazing bike path within the park and outside as well - another good way to acclimate 👍. The weather is cold in March even, and not much is open yet, so I’d recommend later in the year. The awesome hikes are fairly apparent - down into the canyons below the rim. The Navajo/Queens loop trail is the busiest, but if you head out to the Peek A Boo trail off of that, you’ll find solitude. For some of the best peace and quiet anywhere in the park (minus the

backpacking) search out the 9mi Fairyland loop! Jaw dropping and mind bending Hoodoos and windows abound ( make sure you have plenty of extra rolls of film) and it’s only a meer 1600 ft of elevation gain back to the car 😵‍💫.

Hope I didn‘t ruin any of your adventure for you in this blog… We’ll be taking a break at the Lotus homestead, visiting with friends, and packing after unpacking for the next adventure, and resting the chariot in the shop after 17,700 miles! Wix finally let me add some photos, but don’t hold your breath they will let me add any to the other remaining 7 blog posts… but we will be back in the saddle for the next expedition starting in May. Maybe I’ll call it something else?!?

Cheers to our good friends and loving family🙏🏻 This was all for you… I’d much rather read my book by the campfire😜 but I hope you enjoyed my attempt at wit and prose (minus the grammar and punctuation). Till next time:

Eric & Stacey signing off.
