Garden Route & the Southern Tip of Africa.

June 19 -26, 2022

South Africa

We rented a car and took off for a week along the southern edge of Africa.

The trip left the city behind and after a 7 hour drive we arrived in Storms River. Our Route made its way back west along the Garden Route and the Southernmost point in Africa.

our drive near Bot River found us an unexpected sighting! To bad they ran away when I tried for a photo, and the lousy one I got - a cow was in the way…

Sunbird Suspension bridges Bird food

Out at the mouth of Storms River in the Titsikamma National Park, the waves were ferocious and the suspension bridge crossing - nerve racking!

Our captain Monty took us out to the heads.

Over to Nysna and one of the most notorious bay entrances in the world. We just had to take a boat trip out to see it😜. Knysna is the perfect place to explore all the Garden Route has to offer: ocean, lake, river, mountain, fynbos, ancient forest & tall dunes.

The African Southernmost Monument is a destination for travelers to waste time and gas to get to… I just had to go there!

The lighthouse there in L’Agulhus is interesting, and the National Park has one hike!?! Go there if you must👍.

Sorry we’ve been incommunicado since safari, taking care of boat business, and exploring Cape Town & surroundings…

most of our adventures can be found on Scotts blog: wildrumpussailing - if your curious 👌.

cheers everyone

hope everyone is well🤞❤️ ill try harder to publish before we start the zero commutation crossing.
