Colorado National Monument

Kind of like Canyonlands … but not really🥱

We meet our traveling companions Trish & Mark at the entrance to the park and get in a hike to Devil’s Kitchen. The rock that looked like a Tandoori oven was a favorite climb for the little kids that hiked up to the cool rock formation, and there were a lot of kids there…and they were way better climbers than any of us as well. Getting a late start, we got heated easily, and the rest of the major hikes seemed too torturous.

Most of the park we took in by the overlooks, not daring the extreme hikes back up. We were a little underwhelmed coming out of Canyonlands, so the photo bank for this park is lacking. This park is best enjoyed prior to Utah’s finest.

The gang split up for a few hours afterwards, and I got some good hotel internet, and hence this blog came alive instead of a silly webpage I tried to configure! ( thx Robyn for the Wix suggestion). And screw you Wordpress, I wasn’t wanting to take a college minor in web design…
