Site 22

First night in the tent, sleeping on a cot isn’t at all like our comfy home bed, but a long drive across Nevada in the smoke from the fires, and a big chili & beer meal, would have us asleep in minutes. 😉

Big camp breakfast and off to the visitor center to check on walk-in reservations

for the Lehman Cave tour, & we score the 1:30 window. Then up to 10,000 ft and the trails at the end of the road, for a cool and lovely walk up to some very low water “alpine” lakes. Aptly named for our friends, Teresa & Stella, both of whom would have loved it here! The 3 mile loop is lush and full of life, with creeks that hide a water shrew, among all the other life in the State!!

Back down the mountain to our Lehman cave tour with a fun, long-haired “ranger” as our guide. Our last minute tour was only a 1/2 hr, and only into the first real room of the cave. It was a beautiful cave and we wanted more, but the longer tours were sold out months ago.

Back to camp for grub and games (Killer Bunnies).
