St Croix, USVI

For the Thanksgiving holiday we allowed the owners to use their boat😜. We chose some land time to check out another Virgin Island, but opted for the 40miles ferry ride instead on the seaplane. We did not do research or read reviews of the ferry ride, nor did I do the maths... Two hours to cover the distance - means the vessel can get up and move! There's no other reason all the reviews call the QE IV the VOMIT COMET... we shoulda looked at TripAdvisor first😳. Once you get to St. Croix, and kiss the ground, you will find a delightful tropical paradise. Twin major towns on this 28 mile long X 7 mile wide lush island, and plenty to keep you busy. Highlights were: see-thru kayaking the bioluminescent bay at night, snorkeling the 1000 ft pier in Fredricksted, cool old National Park fort, the most easterly point in the US, rainforest, beaches, hiking trails, and good fun restaurants and night life. The island has it all, and we were lucky enough to be there the day after Thanksgiving for the Christmasted street Faire. Go early to get a parking spot, and look up for the Mocko Jumpies - 15 ft tall costumed "clowns" on stilts! Music & food on every street corner, beers to go, and shops open late. It made a lovely last night to a fantastic week.
