Cape Town, South Africa

The 3 day shakedown cruise to Langebaan did make us a lot more comfortable with the boat, most importantly the raising and reefing of the sails. The Xquisite X5+ does a very nice job of making a one person helm station (meaning: all the lines come to the 2 winches in front of you that are worked by foot pedals, and the furling is easily done with separate buttons…
👍 all neat and tidy).

We did have dolphins and sea lions playing in the waves alongside our cruise, and some good whale sightings for our first outing -> hopefully that means we can catch some fresh fish!
We are back in Cape Town for some small fixes and a few more boat items, supplies of fresh foods for the trip, and to have some last restaurant meals, (& see the new Thor movie 🤪).
We expect to reach St. Helena in two weeks, then Fernando de Noronha two weeks after that. From there we may go to French Guiana or straight up to Grenada 🇬🇩 (we will have to see later).
Grenada is our hangout place till Nov 1st, then we can head north to the USVI for the season (non-hurricane season that is…).
Scott has described in his blog how to follow the Wild Rumpus boat along the route via AIS on Marine Traffic, we hope you will follow us and maybe wish us all well…😋
Cheers and I’ll check back in when we arrive somewhere with Wi-Fi 👌

Looks like a wonderful and very comfortable boat. I'm so proud and happy for you both. Make some wonderful life memories and thanks for sharing this beautiful planet with us.
