The Annapolis Sailboat Show & The Boat ⚓️⛵️

Oct 14-18, 2021 Annapolis, Maryland

After hugs goodbye and help packing from my folks, we rose very early for our long drive south from New Hampshire.

Arrived in Annapolis at the AirBnB just in time to unload before everyone else showed up. The Wild Rumpus crew had gathered to see the famed boat being built for our friends Scott and Teresa (Wild Rumpus), to bond, and to party at the Annapolis Boat Show for the weekend.

Maybe it’s time to share this little secret:

next year, Stacey & I will be charter boat captains on Wild Rumpus in the Caribbean 😝. The boat is a 50ft Catamaran being built in So.Africa, and if all goes as planned -> the Wild Rumpus will be crewed across the Atlantic by the group of us meeting in Annapolis to tour the boat at the boat show. You can see more at: WWW.Wildrumpussailing.com

ok all the promotions I’ll do for now this post…

We looked at all the latest sailing gear in the tents at the show, and climbed around on lots of beautiful catamarans and monohulls that filled the harbor on floating docks. Our friend Laura even got us invited out to sail on an old 91ft schooner called Woodwind, with her work partners at 59 North. They are a company with a small fleet & infinite knowledge that will share the wisdom of the high seas. (Sorry- one more promo…)

Out on Woodwind w/ Laura

Overall the boat show was amazing but over-stimulating, only because we have been living out of our car, in a tent, pitched in the woods for nearly 7 weeks now 🥺.

Sadly by the end of the weekend, we had to say goodbye to our sailing buddies, and promised to sail with them back in SF Bay before our outing across the ocean (mainly so our land lubber bodies don’t forget how to sail, and to work on our sea legs before the trip). From Annapolis -> we head back into the woods😋.
