Alligator reef, Islamorada Key, Florida

Finally I was able to get in the warm blue waters! Thanks to Stacey‘s friend Jason, who generously took us around in his boat.

We skirted the shallows in the bay and hit up the sites, such as toilet bowl cut, and Lorelei Cabana, with Jason and Rhonda. Also, we went out to the lighthouse off Islamorada Key (a couple of times), since that was the best swim spot to see barracuda, tropical fish, and sharks.

The cute pink oceanside Breezy Palms motel, what Jason calls it “keysie”, was a perfect crash spot after boating in the sun.

Each day ended with an amazing sunset,

reminding us to appreciate good friends and amazing places.

Happy Holidays Islamoralda island style

We were there a little later in winter but it was awesome. If you’re still there be sure you visit the southern most brewery in the US. It’s in Key Largo.

Looks like the Waterfront Brewery in Key West is the southern most… But maybe like Islamoralda Brews - they don’t brew it on site?
