We made it across the Atlantic Ocean!

August 26, 2022 Port Louis, Grenada.

5800 nautical miles and no pirates, scary storms, whale attacks or monster kraken!

We earned 3 tattoos for the effort, but where on my body should I put an anchor, a shellback (a turtle) and a swallow…?

The tats are for crossing the Atlantic, crossing the equator, and sailing more than 5,000 miles in one go👍 The other crew got them the day we arrived - we want to go swimming in the next two weeks and are hesitant ☹️…

The Wild Rumpus sailed smooth and fast for most of the voyage once we got away from the coast of Africa. There were only a couple of days with strong winds and big(ish) seas - Stacey & I had one of those windy-watches, and we got the vessel sailing down a wave at 19.7 knots😳 (our average is about 6knts.)

We made a stop after 11 days in St. Helena

(which deserves its own post…), 11 more days to Fernando de Noronha (a tourist isle like no other🏝), then the home stretch to Grenada in 13 days. We now are calling ourselves Grenadines and living on Wild Rumpus till about November and the end of hurricane season, when we sail north and settle in the US Virgin Islands.

Sadly we are still trying to figure out our phones and Wi-Fi and all that - so photos to share are still waiting to upload in the “my phone is stupid file”.

Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and wishing us well on our Transatlantic adventure 🙏🏻

PS: The photo included was done earlier on Stacey’s phone, which now has been hijacked by the new SIM card we bought here and is causing new challenges and headaches 🤯.
